DayGlow

On Sunday night, I went to DayGlow Houston with Ariel, Taylor, and Brandon. Never heard of the DayGlow event? As of last week, neither had I. Here is the official description: DayGlow, “The World’s Largest Paint Party,” began in 2006 on college campuses, and it quickly took the nation by storm by positioning itself to be a one of a kind experience.  Now, hundreds of thousands of people have witnessed this spectacular show that fuses high-energy music, art, dance, and PAINT into one mind blowing combination.  DayGlow is truly a unique, spectacular, and innovative show that you must experience to comprehend. What initially began as a college tradition has transformed into a world-renowned live concert, featuring spectacular DJs, soaring aerial acts, stilt-walkers, contortion acts, fire shows, and cannons to deliver the famous “Paint Blast,” along with many other unforgettable live performances. DayGlow has grown immensely each and every year in attendance, strength of line-up, and production. DayGlow was by far the best night of my life. It was an experience that I simply will never forget. They had two shows this weekend at Stereo Live on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday show was in high demand and quickly sold out. However, at 12:30 am the Fire Marshall came and shut down their entire party. I can’t even begin to imagine how crowded that dance floor was. Our show wasn’t sold out, yet it was still packed. We danced the entire night- from 9 pm until 2:30 am. No breaks… just an unfathomable amount of sweat and paint. Sunday night was way better than Saturday, and it proved to be the coolest and most innovative show that I have ever seen. I am speechless. Some of my favorite memories were watching the crazy crowd, getting blasted with neon paint, and trying out our YouTube-learned rave dance moves (walk the dog, pick the apples, etc.). I didn’t bring my camera inside, so I was completely worry-free. I lived in the moment and embraced each and every second. DayGlow Houston was incredible! I am so thankful I got to experience this night with such a fun group of friends. Now, my legs feel like Jello and none of us can hear anything. Thank You, DayGlow, for giving us a night that we’ll never forget.
