Last night, I went to my first concert at the House of Blues! Terrace Clayton, or T, invited a big group of us to join him for dinner and watch Andy Grammer, Kate Voegele, and Natasha Bedingfield perform live. Our group consisted of me, Amber, Katy, Rebecca, Dylan, Nathan, Baine, T, and Stephanie! We grabbed a few burgers at Prince’s and enjoyed a quick dinner all together. Once we finished, we were off to the concert! Believe it or not… Kaitlyn Engle actually forgot her camera at home. That NEVER happens! I had to make do with my iPhone camera, which was very frustrating; however, I wasn’t going to let it ruin my night! The House of Blues was such a neat place. I have never been to a concert where you are swaying literally feet away from the performer. It definitely gave you a different perspective and a better appreciation for seating. First to perform was Andy Grammer. He was AMAZING! His debut album came out a few weeks ago, but he knew exactly how to rock the crowd. Andy reminded me of the next Jason Mraz or Matt Nathanson. Later in the evening, we actually got the chance to talk to him, snap a picture with him, and snag an autograph from him. He was very attractive, talented, and humble. I think he has a very bright future ahead! Next to the stage was Kate Voegele… AKA One Tree Hill star!!! She has a great voice and she writes her own lyrics. However, if it wasn’t for her OTH fame, her performance was just average. Amber and I still couldn’t believe we were seeing the same character (Mia) that kissed Stephen Colletti (Chase) and walked on set with my idol, Sophia Bush (Brooke Davis). We are HUGE One Tree Hill fans! Lastly, Natasha Bedingfield made her way to the stage. She is originally from Britain and she is loaded with talent. She sang way more songs than we were familiar with though. I thought it was interesting to see how people’s heavy accents are disguised through music. Some of my favorite songs were Angel and Soulmate. Dylan was highly disappointed she didn’t perform Pocketful of Sunshine. By the end of the night we were all exhausted and in need of a foot massage, but we all had an unforgettable time at the House of Blues!!!
