Aggie Lovin'

This has been my first official weekend in Aggieland- starting on a Thursday night and ending with our first football against SMU. There were social events every night, the MSC open house, tailgating, First Yell, tent sale shopping, Ultimate Frisbee games, Midnight Yell, and much more. I spent an ample amount of time with my Tri-Delt sisters, some new Aggie friends, and Katy Lowery! I attended a graffiti party on Friday night and left completely covered in paint. I had the opportunity to get to know my sister, Jayma, much better and that made the whole evening worth it. On Saturday night, I went to an event called Fajitas and Ritas. It was at the Delt house and I swear it was a mini high school reunion—I saw everyone I knew there! Robert Earl Keen and NELO performed as well as DJ Arsenal in between sets. They served fajitas and margaritas, and had a great turn out. We left fairly early and made our first ever Fuego drive thru run. Since we were too impatient to stand in line for food at the party, we were in desperate need of our own fajita fix! We went to Madeline’s boyfriend’s house, met all of his sweet friends, and chowed down on our chips and queso. I finally exposed Katy to our Aggie traditions by bringing her to the first Midnight Yell. It was completely packed and definitely goes down in the record book as a memorable experience. Sunday night, I went to my first ever A&M football game in the student section. First, I went to the Muller's Tailgate and ate some delicious food! Life in the dorms is tough and any sight of normal food gets me super excited. I loved catching up with some great friends from Sugar Land (especially Shannon Colborne), and hopping around the tailgates. College Station is an unbelievable place on game days! Tonight we beat the hell outta SMU, winning 46 to 14! My first college football game experience was a success; however, it is exhausting standing as the 12th man on the third deck. My boots were killing me! Overall this weekend was chaotic and action packed. I discovered five things....
1. Frat parties aren't really my thing.
2. I want to join a FLO.
3. Standing and cheering for four quarters straight is exhausting.
4. Tailgating is the best part of football season.
5. I absolutely love everything about Aggieland.
